You are invited to participate in the upcoming Introduction to Nova Scotia series. This is a 10-day course that gives you essential information about living in Nova Scotia and Canada. It will cover topics such as:

(Canadian money, bank accounts and services, investing, planning for life events,
insurance, saving money, shopping, avoiding scams)

Health
(Canada’s healthcare system, health cards, private health insurance, home safety, hospitals, dealing with emergencies, finding a family doctor, healthy living, mental health and wellness)

Education
(Public schools, rules and expectations, sick days, school transportation, snow days, school programs and services, English language support, continuing education opportunities, student loans
and scholarships)

Employment
(Employment laws in Nova Scotia, employment services at ISANS, job-search strategies, resumes, cover letters, volunteering, Canadian workplace culture)
